Walsall racially-aggravated rape suspect arrested

A 32-year-old man has been arrested for racially aggravated rape in Walsall, police said.

It comes after a woman in her 20s was attacked in the Park Hall area of ​​Walsall on Saturday night.

West Midlands Police said it was a “significant development” in the investigation and thanked everyone who provided information following the appeal on Sunday.

Police said the victim had suffered an “absolutely horrific attack” and was being supported by specially trained officers.

Det Supt Ronan Tyrer said: “Our investigation will progress today and, as always, our priority is the woman who is the subject of this attack.

“It was updated this morning and will continue to receive full support from specially trained officers.”

The force said it continues to appeal for anyone with information to contact them.
