During a wide-ranging conversation on “Hannity” on Monday, Turning Point USA (TPUSA) CEO Erika Kirk discussed her late husband’s last book and the message she wants people of all faiths to walk out with.
“He didn’t just write this book,” Kirk told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “He lived through it.”
Charlie Kirk, an outspoken Christian who promotes civil discourse on college campuses across the country, was “fiercely proud” of his latest book, according to the book’s publisher, Winning Team Publishing.
His final book will be “Stand in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life.” He finished his book just a month before the assassination on September 10.

His wife of four years explained why the late conservative activist and TPUSA founder is urging his followers to honor Shabbat.
“In this book, Charlie explains how important it is to put away your phone and communicate with your family,” Kirk said. “Pour it into them. This is your legacy.”

Erika shared that Charlie’s experience observing the Sabbath by spending time with his family made him a “next-level husband.”
“It started with one hour at first, two hours,” he explained. “But then when he fully incorporated that into his life, it totally took off. He became a next-level husband, which I didn’t even think was possible because he was already so incredible to me and the babies.”

Hannity, who praised Charlie as a “Bible scholar,” also praised the message of his friend’s book on the Sabbath.
“He talked about this being true rest,” he began. “And that means not watching TV, but binge-watching. It means being with your family. Present with God.”

“Rest your brain, rest your heart,” Kirk replied. “Rest your soul. We are not machines. We are people, we have souls. We are here to make a difference, and if you are constantly subjected to other people trying to distract you from the end goal, you will not hear from God.”

“How can you make decisions for your family, your company, and X, Y, Z if you are so overwhelmed with what your enemy wants you to take?” he asked.
Kirk went on to argue that there is a difference between busyness and productivity.

“We can get stuck on to-do lists and think that’s productivity,” he began. “Not really. Charlie was incredible at time management.”
Erika added that Charlie’s assassination reveals how “limited” time on Earth is and reflects how “precious” time is.
“Are you going to spend this time investing in your family, investing in the eternal things you will have in Heaven, or are you going to spend this time engaging in arguments on the internet and going down rabbit holes?” he asked.
As Kirk and Hannity discussed the biblical origins of the Sabbath and even marriage as a covenant, Kirk emphasized that those who read her husband’s book do not need to be Christians to learn from it.
