London – Deliveoo CEO Will Shu will resign from the food distribution company he founded ten years ago.

Founding Deliveoo with his childhood friend Greg Orlowski in 2013, Shu said on Thursday that he would resign as CEO after his capture by his US rival Doordash.

In May, Doordash announced the purchase agreement on the British online package platform. Purchase values are £ 2.9 billion ($ 4 billion).

“Now I decided that the right time is the right time for me.” He said. “It was incredible to get Deliveoo from being an idea today.”

“Today, the growth and profitability of the company is accelerating and we offer our mission to transform people’s shopping and eating way, but I want to think about my next difficulty after 13 years.”

Deliveoo is expected to be closed on October 2 after a court hearing planned for the purchase by Doordash to be “as expected” and a court trial planned for the 30 September court to sanction the agreement.

After closing, the inheritance will represent the end of Deliveoo’s turbulent time in public markets.

Deliveoo saw that his shares fell 30% in 2021 on the first public offering day, and London had a significant blow to the ambitions of competing with New York for higher profile lists.
