JEE Mains 2026: Registration ends soon; here’s the process and required documents

The registration process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) January 2026 Main session will end on Thursday, November 27. Candidates who want to appear for the exam can apply through the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The January session of JEE Main 2026 is scheduled to be held between 21-30 January 2026.

How to apply for JEE Main 2026?

To complete the application process, candidates must visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and select the JEE Main January session registration link. They need to fill out the application form, upload the required documents, pay the application fee and submit the form. A copy of the completed application form in PDF format should be saved and printed for future reference.

JEE Main 2026 second session date

The second session of JEE Main 2026 will be held from 1 to 10 April 2026. Registration for this session is expected to start on the official website in the last week of January.

Educational qualification

Candidates must have passed one of the following qualification exams:

  • Final examination of 10+2 system conducted by any recognized Central or State Board like CBSE or CISCE
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination from a recognized Board or University
  • Final exam of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy
  • High School Exam consisting of at least five courses by the National Open Schooling Institute
  • Any public school, board or university examination recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to the 10+2 system in India or abroad
  • Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination

JEE Mains 2026: Required documents

Applicants are required to upload scanned copies of:

  • Current color photograph of the candidate in JPG/JPEG format (10–300 kb) titled ‘Photo’, with 80% of the face visible
  • The signature is called ‘Signature’ in JPG/JPEG format (10–50 kb)
  • Class X or equivalent certificate/mark sheet called ‘Class X Certificate’ in PDF format (10–300 kb)
  • PwD/PwBD certificate called ‘Disability Certificate’ in PDF format, if available (10–300 kb)
