IndiGo Crisis: Railways adds extra coach to Jammu-New Delhi Rajdhani Express amid flight disruptions

In response to ongoing disruptions in IndiGo flights, Northern Railways announced that an extra coach will be added to the Jammu-New Delhi Rajdhani Express from tonight for the next seven days, officials said on Friday.

Extra Bus to Help Stranded Passengers

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said that this move is aimed at helping passengers stranded due to operational issues of the airline and providing them with greater comfort.
“Following ongoing flight disruptions, Indian Railways has taken an important decision to increase 72-seater 3rd AC coaches at Jammu-New Delhi Rajdhani for the next seven days from tonight (December 5),” Singhal said.
Passengers affected by flight cancellations can benefit from this opportunity by booking a seat on the additional bus.

IndiGo Flight Cancellations Trigger Chaos at Jammu Airport

According to reports, 11 IndiGo flights were canceled from Jammu airport due to operational disruptions affecting schedules. The cancellations left many travelers uncertain and frustrated; Confusion and unrest were reported at the airport.
Some passengers reportedly protested, expressing anger at what they described as the airline’s failure to respond to distress calls and provide timely information.

Railways Step In to Provide Convenience

With air travel disrupted, the increase in Rajdhani Express bus service reflects Indian Railways’ efforts to provide a reliable alternative for passengers trying to reach Delhi. Authorities emphasized that passengers can make seat reservations in advance to secure travel on the additional bus.
While IndiGo works to stabilize operations, the railways’ intervention comes as a temporary but practical solution for those stranded due to flight cancellations and delays.
