American woman, 55, mysteriously disappears from luxury cruise ship in the Caribbean

An American woman mysteriously disappeared from a cruise ship in the Caribbean.

Ann Evans, 55, went missing during an island tour of Sint Maarten, east of Puerto Rico, on Nov. 20, according to a missing persons alert.

He was seen leaving the Holland America Line Rotterdam ship for a tour around 10:00 in the morning and getting off the bus in Marigot, Saint Martin, France, but he could not return from his trip.

The missing persons alert was issued Wednesday and the investigation is ongoing, according to authorities. It’s unclear why the warning was issued almost a week after his disappearance.

Authorities said, ‘Police authorities on both the Dutch and French sides of the island were alerted.’

Law enforcement ‘urged’ anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

In an update on Thursday, Sint Maarten Police said a woman matching Evan’s description ‘checked into a hotel on the French side of the island using her passport’.

“There have also been reports of sightings in the vicinity of this facility,” police said.

Ann Evans, 55, was only on the second stop of her voyage when she failed to return to the ship on November 20.

Dutch authorities are trying to confirm whether this person is Evans, but since he is on the French side, Sint Maarten Police have to work with their colleagues.

Evan’s trip to the Dutch island was only the second stop of the cruise.

It’s unclear whether Evans was traveling alone or with someone.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Holland America Line and San Maarten Police for comment.

The ship sailed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 16 and stopped at Carnival’s private island, Half Moon Cay, before crashing into the Dutch/French island.

The boat then arrived in St. He has been to St. Lucia Island, Tobago, Barbados and many more places.
