Evacuation ordered in the Ağar Pass area due to fires

Mesa County, Colo. (Krex) – On Saturday at 16:30, Mesa County Sheriff Office ordered a evacuation order for residents of all private lands between Mile Markers 120 and 124 during the road near Gateway.

There is a release center on the Cliftton Community campus on the 3270 D 1/2 in Cliftton.

MESA County Natural Resources Department has created a help phone line for those who need help in providing shelter for large animals. Residents can contact the line at 970-778-0162.

As a result of Turner Gulch and Wright Draw fires in the area that started on Thursday, evacuation notification was made. Other fires on Saturday include South Rim Fire in the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park, Sowbelly Fire in the Dominguez Canyon Wilderess, and Deer Creek Fire near the old La Sal in Utah.

On Saturday afternoon, the Co Highton 141 in the Gateway region was given a prevention notification from Mesa County Sheriff Office.
