Princess Beatrice’s family is awaiting a special day today when their youngest daughter will be christened. Athena Mapelli Mozzi, who was born in January earlier this year, will be christened in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace.
Close family members and friends will also be present at the special event, which will be held in complete privacy. It is thought that no photos of the event will be made public.

Athena’s grandparents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, will attend today’s christening. Princess Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, is also expected to attend the event with her own family.
Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are believed to have invited senior royals, including the King and Queen, to the christening, but it is unclear whether they will attend.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are also believed to have been invited.
The christening ceremony takes place in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace.
The chapel has been used for various royal events for years, and other royals, including Prince George and Prince Louis, will also be christened there.
Royal weddings have also been held in the chapel before, including that of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert on 10 February 1840.
Princess Beatrice was also christened at the Palace.
Although it has not been officially announced, it is thought that one of Athena’s godmothers has already been confirmed.
As Tatler reported, It is believed that Princess Nina of Greece and Denmark, a close friend of Beatrice, will be godmother to Athena.
However, Beatrice and her husband did not officially comment on this matter.
