Elizabeth Smart Explains Her Belief That Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Nancy May Still Be Alive

The search for Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother, Nancy, continues after more than three months with no suspects named. Kidnap and survivors advocate Elizabeth Smart, like Nancy, was only 14 when she was kidnapped from her home and, against all odds, lived to tell about it. Elizabeth told CNN’s Erin Burnett that she believes Nancy may still be alive, citing her own kidnapping experience. The woman, now 38, was abused and held for nine months before being rescued by police as she walked down a Utah street with her kidnappers.
