A former Dreamboys stripper was seen ‘laughing and joking’ with her girlfriend just hours before he allegedly shot her dead at their home in France.
George Goodayle, 47, is accused of killing his partner Jayne Nicholson, 49, with a shotgun on March 15.
The former exotic dancer and model is said to have gone to police at 9am the next morning and claimed the attack was an accident.
The incident sent shockwaves through the village of Les Champs, near Brillac, where stunned neighbors said: ‘We saw them laughing and joking during the weekend shooting; They looked like they didn’t have a care in the world.
‘They were on a short holiday and looked like they were part of a true love story and looking to the future together.’
Police entered the couple’s property on Monday, where they He found the lifeless body of Mrs. Nicholson.
Prosecutors later charged Goodayle with using a firearm to kill his wife.

Police entered the property in the village of Les Champs, near Brillac, where they found a ‘lifeless body’, according to the prosecutor’s statement.
According to the Angoulême prosecutor’s office, an autopsy performed at the forensic medicine institute in Poitiers revealed that Ms. Nicholson had suffered two gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The statement said, “The forensic pathologist’s on-site examination confirmed the presence of two ballistic wounds on the victim’s upper body.”
While a hunting rifle was seized from the couple’s home, the investigation was handed over to gendarmes from the Confolens investigation brigade.
Angoulême prosecutor Benoît Bernard said: ‘At 9.00 am on 16 March 2026, a 47-year-old British citizen, who has been residing in Brillac since 2016 and whose occupation is not declared, reported to the Confolens gendarmerie.
‘He admitted that he shot his partner with a shotgun the previous evening.
‘The suspect was detained on suspicion of killing his wife.
‘During his statements in police custody, the defendant put forward the theory of accidental shooting.’
The duo, who are both British citizens, had been in a relationship since June 2025.
One neighbor told a local newspaper: ‘They often invited the whole neighborhood over for drinks and meals. It was an ordinary party at their house. They looked so in love.’
Facebook images show the couple working on their property, which includes a swimming pool, horse pastures and outbuildings.
Goodayle was a dancer on the famous striptease show Dreamboys.
The couple, who are both British citizens, had been in a relationship since June 2025.
A Google Maps locator also tags a building called the Pink Pony Hut, a dine-in and takeout spot with a menu of snacks, small plates and cocktails.
However, a Facebook post shared by Goodayle in October last year revealed the facility had closed after it was discovered the property was on protected land.
‘Maire and I have tried to find other solutions, but we’re all a bit stumped at the moment. “They are considering narrowing the protected area, but this may take a long time,” the message said.
Photos on Ms Nicholson’s Facebook page show the couple walking together at Christmas markets in France in December last year, and the pair driving through a snowy landscape in January.
