RBSE 10, 12 board exams MAJOR update: Exams will be held twice a year
The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has made an important announcement regarding how the board examination will be conducted from the next academic session. Rajasthan’s School Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar announced that board exams for classes 10 and 12 in the state will be held twice a year from the 2026-27 academic session.
In between the two exams, the first board exam will be mandatory for both classes and those who pass the first exam will be able to retake the second exam to improve their marks in up to three subjects.
The Minister stated that initiatives have been taken by RBSE to reduce exam stress and improve results.
What will happen in the new system?
Under the new system, all students are required to take the first exam, and the second exam will be optional. This will help students improve their results in both regular and supplementary subjects. The Minister added that if a student takes two exams, the exam in which he performs better will be considered as the final result. However, they must submit a valid health report or obtain permission from the district education officer.
RBSE 10th main exams and Rajasthan Board Class 12 exam will be held in February-March and the second session exam will be held in May-June. The syllabus for both exams will cover the entire course.
Dilawar said, “From the next academic session, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education exams will be held twice a year. The first exam will be compulsory for all students, while successful students will be able to take the second chance exam in up to three subjects to improve their marks.”
