‘Exceptionally reckless’ science teacher banned after pupils saw explicit images on work laptop
During the course period of the personnel laptop, a science teacher has been teaching for at least 10 years.
Essex confessed that Christian Watkinson, who worked at Christian School in Takley, has admitted that the school used a smartphone Hotpot to access adult content while supervising students and to circulate the school filtering and monitoring system to participate in adult chat sites.

Student F, Mr. Watkinson’s laptop screen “almost every lesson” said they saw something inappropriate. This contained “pornographic photos on the laptop, including naked women”.
The student said that Mr. Watkinson took a photo and took his laptop “about 30 seconds to a minute” chemical cupboard. They said this was “almost every lesson since December.”
Panel said “he focused on [the statements] On the basis of the fact that the statements of the students are consistent with each other and with other evidence […] And Mr. Watkinson’s own acceptance. In general, Panel found that Mr. Watkinson’s behavior was “extraordinarily reckless”.
Acting on behalf of the General Manager of Trara and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marc Cavey said in the report that “allowing a ten -year review period is a sufficient and proportional period to protect the trust of the people in the profession.”
“These elements: The serious nature of the abuse, which includes accessing adult content during the course period and recklessly exposing students to this content, the lack of fraud and integrity shown by Mr. Watkinson in performing this behavior, and the lack of risk of damage to the student and the future.
He said: “Therefore, I think that a ten -year examination period is necessary to meet the trust of the people in the profession. This means that Mr. Christian Watkinson is forbidden to be taught indefinitely and that he can not be taught at any school in England, in the sixth form college, the relevant youth accommodation or the child’s house.
Christian School, a school paying a small fee, was founded in 1989, but in June 2024, it was closed due to financial difficulties.
