Explosions reported in Caracas as aircraft fly over Venezuelan capital

According to information received, at least seven explosions were heard in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, early on Saturday morning.

According to the Associated Press, low-flying planes were seen flying over Caracas around 2 a.m. local time on Saturday.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a Notice to Air Missions at 1 a.m. EST on Saturday, prohibiting all U.S. aircraft from operating “at all altitudes within Venezuelan airspace.”

The report comes as the US military targets boats allegedly involved in drug smuggling in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific.
