Eyes on Egypt ahead of crucial Gaza peace talks

In the war in Gaza, the indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel will begin on Monday, forcing the rapid release of hostages of the United States and Israel.
Negotiations come after Hamas accepts some parts of a 20 -point US peace plan, including Palestinian technocrats to release hostages and deliver Palestinian technocrats to Gaza’s governance, but are looking for negotiations on other issues.
The response of the group did not mention the basic demands of disarmament and did not play a future role in Gaza’s governance.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump told Israel to “stop bombing immediately” after Hamas responded to the proposed plan, although Israeli air strikes continued in Gaza.
Israeli government spokesman Shosh Bedri, told reporters on Sunday, “Some bombings in the Gaza Strip stop, there is no ceasefire at this point,” he said.
Bedria, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’nun “Gaza’daki threat to the lives of the battlefield,” he said.
Gaza’s reports say that Israel has continued air strikes and tank fire until a night and Sunday, and destroyed a series of residential buildings in Gaza.
A BBC correspondent heard explosions from Gaza, and on Sunday morning he saw a smoke feather near the border in Kibbutz Be’eri, Israel.
The Ministry of Health, operated by Gaza Hamas, said 65 people were killed by Israeli military operations within 24 hours.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said BBC’s bombing to US news partner CBS News should stop hostage.
“You can’t release the hostages when there are bombings to stop, but you have to work in other logistics,” he said, as he continued to face the face of CBS News on Sunday.
“We want to remove hostages as soon as possible.”
The 20 -point plan proposes an immediate end and release of 48 hostages, which are thought to be alive, only 20 of them are alive for hundreds of detainees.
Netanyahu, on Saturday at an address held on television, “in the coming days” hopes to announce the publication of hostages, he said.
“Trump will be limited to a maximum of a few days in an agreement with Trump management talks”.
Israel will go to Egypt on Sunday night for important negotiations whose negotiations will begin on Monday. US Special Ambassador Steve Witkoff and Qatar Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani will also participate.
Negotiations have been expected to be mostly since the beginning of the war, and may determine whether a path to end the conflict is finally accessible.
Many Palestinians described Hamas’s reaction to the peace plan after the indicators that the group is preparing to accept Trump’s peace plan or at least heavier conditioning.
Instead, Hamas refrained from incorporating traditional “red lines” into the official expression, many of them interpreted as a sign of external pressure.
A senior Palestinian official who is familiar with the talks, said he played an important role in persuading the BBC to reducing the objections of Hamas of Egyptian and Turkish intermediaries to Hamas and to leave controversial points such as the fate of his weapons, post -Gaza management and other concerns for the negotiation painting.
Many gazans warn that this tactical flexibility carries a significant risk.
Each day of delay means more deaths, destruction and displacement for hundreds of thousands of voices.
Nevertheless, Hamas’s decision to enter the talks without prerequisites can be seen as the recognition of the limited leverage after about two years of war.
When Trump asked Jake Tapper from CNN, when Hamas insisted on staying in power in Gaza, they replied with a text message that the band would encounter “full obliteration”.
The US President published on social media that Israel first accepted the first withdrawal line of Israel in a series of withdrawal proposed by Israeli forces.
According to the population distribution data in the Gaza Strip, the withdrawal map published by Trump would initially exclude the return of approximately 900,000 Palestinians to their homes.
The proposed lines are on the southernmost edge of the Rafah, Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia in the north, about a quarter of the city of Gaza, and half of Khan Younis and Deir El-Balah in the south.
Hamas rejected a similar map during previous talks in March and May this year.
The Israeli army launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the attack on Hamas on 7 October 2023 against Southern Israel, and about 1,200 people were killed and 251 people were hostage.
The Ministry of Health says 67,139 has been killed by Israeli military operations in Gaza since then.
International journalists have been banned by Israel from entering the Gaza Strip independently since the beginning of the war, making it difficult to verify from both sides.
For now, the region holds its breath as the negotiators are preparing to gather in Egypt, and hopes that despite deep insecurity and political fragility, at the end of this tour, the ceasefire.
