He went from winning two straight pennants to being winless as an Eagle, but hard-nosed defenseman Brandon Starcevich predicts big things are coming on the West Coast.

Starcevich made the difficult decision to leave Brisbane at the end of last year after reaching three consecutive major finals and winning two flags with the Lions.

Despite having a 70 per cent win rate in his 132 games with the Lions, the temptation to return to Perth on a four-year deal and help the West Coast through their rebuilding phase proved too difficult to resist.

The ride west has not been smooth so far, with Starcevich suffering a serious calf injury that sidelined him until round 13.
