SCR GM Reviews Safety, Facilities

Vijayawada: South Central Railway general manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Saturday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Vijayawada division to review safety measures, passenger amenities and progress of redevelopment of the station under the Amrit Stations scheme.

The inspection began at Tanuku where the Director General inspected road safety at Point No. 103B (KM 137/04–10) and inspected the safety arrangements at Level Crossing Gate No. 151. He then inspected Narsapur Railway Station and assessed passenger amenities, circulation area, bus depot and shipyard and reviewed the status of redevelopment work.

At Bhimavaram, Srivastava inspected road maintenance and safety at Curve No. 32 (KM 107) in the yard and inspected passenger facilities at Bhimavaram Town Railway Station. In addition, inspections were made at Level Crossing Gate No. 95 and Upputeru Bridge No. 149.

The General Manager visited the traction sub-station near Gudivada and later inspected the Gudivada Railway Station where he inspected the renovated waiting hall, toilets and other passenger amenities.

The inspection concluded at Machilipatnam Railway Station, where it assessed passenger facilities, inspected the station master’s office and circulation area, and reviewed the progress of Amrit Station redevelopment work. He instructed officials to ensure stringent safety norms at construction sites and expedite work to meet scheduled deadlines.

During the visit, the General Manager also received representation from public representatives regarding various railway development works in the region.
