Trump-Zelensky LIVE: Donald to make major Ukraine decision | World | News

Donald Trump is preparing to host his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky for talks at the White House, a day after the US President had a “productive” phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
In recent days, Mr. Trump had shown he was open to selling long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine despite warnings from Putin; but indications are that he is not willing to comply with Mr. Zelensky’s request, at least for now.
Posting on Truth Social on Thursday, Mr Trump said: “At the end of the call, we agreed to have a meeting with our Senior Advisors next week.
“The first meetings of the United States will be chaired by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with other persons to be determined. A meeting place will be determined.
“President Putin and I will meet later at an agreed upon location, Budapest, Hungary, to see if we can bring this “dishonorable” war between Russia and Ukraine to an end.”
