Thiruvananthapuram Corporation achieves Water Plus status in Swachh Survekshan rankings

Thiruvananthapuram Corporation has reached the water plus in the Swachh Survector ranking to list the cleanest cities in the country by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. In a press release, company officials said that success is the result of efforts to ensure scientific treatment of septage and sewage wastes by the civilian organ.
Among the factors that are taken into consideration in giving the water plus certificate, reuse of sewage water, the application of an effective septage waste collection system, the free city (ODF) status of open defecation, the public toilet system, the sewage treatment facilities in the Muttathara and Medicine College and a 24 -hour septage call center in the municipality.
Last year, the Municipality was in the Odf Plus category. This year, the Odf Plus Plus has reached the category.
Kerala Municipalities, Swachh Survector for 2024, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of the Union to list the cleanest cities of the country made significant developments. Eight municipalities secured the rank in the country’s top 100 clean cities. Last year, no municipality from the state on the top 100 list.
Other Toppers
At the summit of municipalities from the province, Kochi Corporation ranks 50th among all local organs in the country. Kochi made a giant leap between cities, 416 in the last year and 1,815 ranks in general. Other municipalities from Kerala in the first 100 are Mattannur (53), Thrissur Corporation (Rutbe 58), Kozhikode Corporation (rank 80), Guruvayur Municipality (Guruvayur Corpport), Thiruvananthaanthapuram Corporation (Thiruvananthaanthapuramuram Corporation (Thiruvananthapuram Corporation (Thiruvananthapuram Corporation) and Thiruvananthapuram.
