Iran war ‘should be ending pretty soon’

“The war in Iran is progressing smoothly,” President Donald Trump said on Thursday.

“It’s going to be over very soon,” Trump said at an event in Las Vegas, echoing similarly hopeful predictions about an end to the war the United States and Israel have waged since launching an attack on Iran in late February.

“It was perfect. Perfect. That was the power we had,” the president said. “We had the most powerful army in the world.”

The president’s appearance was to support his “no tip tax” policy, which eliminates the federal income tax on tip-based wages for many workers.

Hours ago, Trump announced that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to a 10-day ceasefire. Iran complained about the continuation of Israel’s attacks on Lebanon during the 10-day ceasefire with the USA.

Trump said earlier Thursday that a second round of face-to-face talks between Americans and Iranian officials could be held “probably, maybe next weekend.”
