Farage called for release of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and praised effort to free drug trafficker | Nigel Farage

Nigel Farage has called for the release of jailed rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs and praised efforts to free the former Honduran president, who is imprisoned in the US for drug trafficking.
The Reform UK leader was paid to make remarks on personalized video platform Cameo, which allows users to enlist celebrities and public figures to record short video clips.
Farage’s use of the platform has come under scrutiny after a Guardian investigation revealed he had recorded videos supporting a rebel, repeating extremist slogans and supporting a neo-Nazi event.
Farage’s spokesman said the Cameo videos “should not be considered political statements or campaign activity”.
The last videos unearthed by the Guardian were recorded in early 2025, after he was elected as an MP.
Cameo users are required to write a brief “trivia” for the celebrity they choose. They then pay a fee for the video.
In January 2025, a Cameo user paid Farage £84 to create a 26th birthday message for a Honduran woman. “Please commend him for his efforts to save Juan Orlando Hernández from prison,” the customer wrote.
Hernández was president of Honduras from 2014 to 2022. He was arrested and extradited to the United States weeks after leaving office. In June 2024, he was sentenced to 45 years in an American prison for drug trafficking and fined $8 million. Prosecutors said he worked with drug traffickers and took millions of dollars in bribes.
Despite Hernández’s conviction, Farage’s recorded message told the woman: “I must commend you for your efforts to save Juan Orlando Hernández from prison. You work hard. You are a campaigner for justice and truth.”
Hernández was later pardoned by Donald Trump, who claimed he was asked by “most of the Honduran people” to release the former president, adding that he was told the investigation was a “Biden trap.”
Trump did not pardon Combs (also known as Puff Daddy), although he said he sought clemency after the rapper was convicted of prostitution-related convictions and sentenced to four years in prison in July 2025.
Months ago, when a Cameo user asked Farage to use a slogan supporting Combs’ release, the rapper was being held without bail at a large detention center in Brooklyn while awaiting trial.
The user paid £82 for a birthday message to “Kieron”, who turns 17 in March 2025, and asked Farage to say: “Free Diddy, eat Shankly”. The user also asked the Reform leader to use harsh anti-immigration language, saying “if in doubt, throw them out”. Farage said: “I should roast Newcastle and say free Diddy, eat Shankly.” He added: “And if in doubt, let’s check our borders.”
Farage’s spokesman added: “Mr Farage has recorded thousands of videos of real supporters celebrating weddings, congratulating friends or sending novelty messages. At this scale, errors can occasionally occur.”
