Farage condemns Starmer after street attack on Reform council leader

Sir Keir Starmer has been condemned for his “disgraceful attack” on Reform after a party council leader in Warwickshire was reportedly attacked in the street.
Britain’s youngest council leader George Finch says he was called a “racist” and “fascist” by a man who allegedly attacked him in Nuneaton town center on Friday evening.
The 19-year-old young man did not suffer any permanent injuries in the incident. said Daily Mail It was stated that the alleged attacker was “injured and sent to war due to the dangerous rhetoric of the Labor Party and the Greens.”
The incident, which Warwickshire Police is investigating, comes just days after Reform leader Nigel Farage accused Sir Keir of inciting violence against him during his speech at the Labor Party conference.
Addressing delegates, Sir Keir said the politics of Mr Farage and Reform were “racist” and said anyone who argued that people who had lived here for generations should now be deported was an “enemy of national renewal”.
Earlier this month, newly elected Greens leader Zack Polanski also criticized Mr Farage’s party, saying its politics were “dangerous, deceptive”.
Following the alleged attack on Mr Finch, Mr Farage said: Daily Mail: “I am deeply saddened that our young council leader was attacked.
“The words used against him reflect the Prime Minister’s disgraceful attack on Reform during the week of the Labor Party conference and the completely irresponsible comments of the Green Party leader.”
A Labor Party spokesman said: “Violence, harassment or intimidation is completely unacceptable and has no place in our politics or society. Such incidents must be fully investigated and the perpetrators brought to justice.”
A Green Party spokesman said: “There is no place for violence or intimidation in politics and it is distasteful to use a councillor’s disgraceful attack to score cheap points.
“The Green Party is committed to delivering a message of hope against those who seek to fuel division and hatred. We will work to bring communities together and provide them with the investment they need to thrive.”
Mr Finch has been in the national spotlight since his appointment following local elections earlier this year.
She said she was with a female friend when she was attacked by a young man on Friday night, who allegedly followed them before police were called.
Mr Finch told Daily Mail: “It is clear that the man who attacked us was wounded and sent to war by the dangerous rhetoric of Labor and the Greens.
“I am extremely concerned about the state of political discourse in Britain. Reform activists in the UK are subjected to intimidation and violence at the hands of Left agitators at all levels. The politicians they follow know this but willingly allow it to happen.”
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “Officers are investigating an assault after receiving a call at around 2am on Saturday, October 11, where a man said he had been pushed by another man in Nuneaton.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 26 of 11 October.”
Mr Finch has been contacted Independent for comment.
