Farage tells donors he expects Reform to do election deal with Tories – report | Nigel Farage

Nigel Farage has told donors he expects a deal or merger between the UK Reform Party and the Conservatives before the next general election.

Reform donors said: Finance Times He said he expected the leader’s party to join the Conservative Party or make a deal with them.

Farage described such a deal as “inevitable” but said it would take some time as he remained cautious about striking a deal between the two, one of those who spoke to the FT said.

However, Farage and the Conservative Party denied the allegations.

“Sometimes people hear what they want,” Farage told the paper. “After next May the Conservatives will no longer be a national party. I would never make a deal with a party I don’t trust. No deal, just a reverse takeover.”

A Conservative Party spokesman said: “Under Kemi Badenoch’s leadership, the Conservatives will not consider any deal or agreement. They want reform, higher welfare spending and greater comfort.” [Russian president Vladimir] Putin’s.

“Only the Conservatives have the team, the plan and the backbone to make this happen.”

Farage tried to win the support of voters from the Conservative Party, arguing that the party could no longer be trusted after 14 years in power.

The old Tories took refuge in the Reformation; He is among the newest names to join the party, following former minister Jonathan Gullis, Danny Kruger, Nadine Dorries, Jake Berry and Maria Caulfield.

Badenoch rejected suggestions earlier this year that the Conservative Party could strike a deal with Reform, saying: “I’m the custodian of an institution that’s been around for almost 200 years… I can’t just treat it like a toy and make deals and mergers.”

Despite Reform UK’s strong showing in the polls, the Conservatives maintained support from donors and raised £6.3 million in the first half of the year, three times the £2.1 million raised by Reform, according to Electoral Commission data.

A Labor spokesman said: “Nigel Farage isn’t even hiding it anymore; he’s happy the Tories are failing to support his party whether they choose to join Reform or not.

“The Conservatives have gutted public services and shaken family finances. They and Reformation would reintroduce Conservative Party austerity to Britain, meaning brutal cuts to local schools and hospitals.

“This shady backroom scheme will send shivers down the spines of people up and down the country and show you can’t trust Nigel Farage. Labor is solely focused on lowering the cost of living for families, reducing NHS waiting lists and reducing the national debt.”
