‘India will develop at pace set by PM Modi, even on autopilot’: NSA Ajit Doval

National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval said on Friday that India will become a developed country at the pace set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi even if it operates on autopilot.

Speaking at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue in the national capital, he urged the youth to strengthen their decision-making skills, saying strong and timely decisions are the key to leading the country in all fields.

Doval said, “I have forgotten my youth, while your youth has changed so much that I am not even aware of many things. But there is something very common in both: When I was young and now I have observed that it always stays with you… It is your decision-making ability… India will definitely develop. India will develop at the pace and pace set by PM Modi. Even if it runs on autopilot, it will still be developed.”
“But the question is: Who will lead this developed India? How capable will they be? The greatest strength of a leader is to make the right decisions. They make their decisions on time and implement these decisions with full faith and belief. So, if you want to be the leader of developed India in any field, science, technology, security, you will have to make decisions and from now on you will have to improve this decision-making ability,” he said.

Doval said that the real power of a country is will and that wars are not fought for violence, but to break the morale of the other side.

He praised India’s leadership for leading the country towards rapid progress over the last decade with strong commitment, hard work and dedication.
“You can increase your will. The same will turns into national power. Why do we fight? We are not psychopaths who get great pleasure and satisfaction from seeing the corpses, corpses and severed limbs of the enemy. This is not the reason why wars are fought. Wars are fought to break the morale of a country, to surrender according to our wishes, to accept our conditions, to ensure that we get what we want… Wars are the will of the nation,” he said. Even today, look at the wars and conflicts that occur, some countries want to impose their will on others and for this they use force, if you are so strong that no one can oppose you, then you will always remain independent. But if you have everything but no morale, all your weapons and resources are useless and for that you need leadership. Today, we are very lucky to have a leadership that has brought the country to this point in 10 years. Now, they are putting it on the path to rapid progress. Their determination, hard work and total dedication are an inspiration to us all,” Doval said.

Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2.0 started today (Saturday) and will continue till January 12 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The first edition of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue was held in January 2025 at the same venue.
