King Charles’s generous Christmas gift to staff – and it’s different from the late Queen | Royal | News

King Charles is reportedly very generous when it comes to his staff members during the Christmas period. The 77-year-old is said to enjoy gathering his family to celebrate the festivities at his Sandringham estate, but he is also careful not to forget the staff who have helped him throughout the year.

According to one source, the King treats them very kindly during the festive season. They said: “He was serving dinner, matching plates, side dishes, etc. but one portion at a time, so if you stayed in service long enough you got the entire collection.” His gift-giving idea was inspired by the late Queen Elizabeth II, who gifted her staff a Christmas pudding to eat at home each year. It is known that she is different from Elizabeth.

Although he has his own gift, the King also likes to hand out Christmas pudding to his employees as a bonus for their hard work.

To get into the festive spirit, Royal Household staff tend to celebrate at St James’s Palace.

This includes staff at a number of royal residences, including King Charles’ Highgrove estate.

I was talking privately before Heart BingoFormer royal gardener Jack Stooks said the King also distributed Christmas cards to his staff.

He said: “The first few years I worked at Highgrove we also got Christmas pudding from the King.

“When the King started making Christmas cards, we all received a hand-signed Christmas card from him and Camilla.”

The King and Queen celebrated another Christmas at the Sandringham estate with their families, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children.
