One person died and three people were seriously injured when a double-decker bus collided on a street closed to traffic in Dublin.

Emergency services attended the scene at around 12.30pm, when the Bus Éireann double-decker bus was traveling on Talbot Street to turn left onto the one-way system at Marlborough Street. But pictures show the bus driving along the road and heading towards a pedestrian area on North Earl Street. While it was reported that the bus hit many people, it was understood that at least one person was trapped under the bus. Many people, including the driver, were taken to hospital.
