Why urgency?
Listeria Monocytogenes is a dangerous bacterium that can pollute various foods. Infection, known as Listeriosis, is dangerous especially for newborns, adults over 65 years of age, and weakened individuals with weakening systems. Symptoms vary from firing, muscle pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea in lighter cases to severe complications such as headache, neck stiffness, confusion, loss of coordination and more vulnerable individuals. Listeria infection is the third leading cause of death in the US and causes approximately 260 deaths per year.
Consumers want:
- Check blueberries for the affected lot numbers
- Avoid consuming any recycled product
- Contact the retailer for reimbursement
- If Listerosis symptoms develop after consumption, call medical aid
Since the agency warns that exposure to stained wild Mersin may result in life -threatening diseases, the FDA class class status emphasizes the seriousness of this pollution.
Company response and background
Alma Pak International LLC voluntarily remembered the product and cooperates with the authorities. In particular, this is not the first recall of the company – it contains recall for other frozen fruit products due to contamination concerns.
This recall comes in the midst of a wider food recall in 2024 and 2025, and a significant increase in hospitalization and death -related deaths.
