Hungary refuses to stop buying Russian oil despite Trump’s Nato demand | Hungary

Despite the White House’s request to NATO allies, Hungary will not be separated from Russian energy materials.

Donald Trump asked Europe to stop Russian oil imports, but in an interview between the 80th anniversary of the UN General Assembly, Péter Szijjártó said: “We cannot provide safe supply [of energy products] For our country without Russian oil or gas resources ”, adding Trump’s approach to his approach.

“Energy materials are a completely physical question for us,” he said. “It may be nice to dream of buying oil and gas from somewhere [besides Russia] … But we can only buy from where our infrastructure is.

“And if you look at the physical infrastructure, it is impossible to ensure the safe supply of the country without Russian materials.”

Szijjártó’s words came after Trump’s new sanctions on Russia to distinguish him with Russian energy supply.

Trump, last week on the social platform, “When all NATO countries accepted the same thing and began to do the same thing and all NATO countries stop receiving oil from Russia, I am ready to sanction on Russia,” he said.

The request was followed by a series of deadline for Trump to make Moscow’s progress in ending the war with Ukraine. Some allies questioned whether they wanted to increase the pressure on Vladimir Putin, or if they only crossed the money to Europe.

Hungary’s state’s Mol Group imports about 5 million tons of oil annually from the Druzhba pipeline and supplies crude oil to refinery in Hungary and Slovakia. These two countries were the most resistant to calls for stopping energy imports from Russia.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is one of Trump’s closest ideological allies in Europe and praised him regularly. Orbán also criticized Ukraine sharply while maintaining intimate relationships with the Kremlin.

Bloomberg reported that the EU has thought of trade restrictions that can reduce or stop oil delivery through the pipeline and that they can unanimously be introduced without consent and allow other European countries to exceed Budapest and Bratislava further.

“When it comes to buying Russian oil, he is now almost connected to Hungary and Slovakia, Tr Trump is one of the greatest supporters of Ukraine in his orbit. “I hope and I am waiting for them to step on the plate soon to help us finish this blood bath. If not, he should follow and follow the results.”

European leaders forced Hungary and Slovakia to stop buying Russian oil, but objections were ignored.

In an interview with The Guardian at the weekend, Alexander Stubb, President of Finland Alexander Stubb, said that Trump, who has become one of the most regular -speaking European leaders with Trump, said that Trump’s last claim was “two pieces in his last claim: when he raised tariffs on China and stopped buying Russian oil, he said he would become more difficult in Russia.

Stubb, “the first track Europe stops the purchase of Russian oil and gas. “This commission is dependent on this commission,” he said.

In contrast, Stubb said Europe does not have “legal tools için for tariffs, but could work on harder sanctions.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said last week with the Guardian in Kiev, Trump supports the call of stopping Russian oil in Europe. “Hopefully President Orbán in Budapest hears this and moves on President Trump’s charm of stopping Russian oil. He can take Hungarian oil from the south,” he said.

When asked about the European pressure on Monday, Szijjártó described Western European officials as “fanatic ve and said that it was completely impossible to carry out a common sense -based, rational dialogue”.

However, although relations with Brussels, the relationship with the United States healed significantly, said that Hungary said, “Only the fingers of the European government were fingers. [Trump’s] victory”.

“The US now is a friend now,” he said. “Therefore, the fact that the American president is your friend, regardless of those coming from Brussels, is completely different than what they pressure on you.”
