Federal agents in Portland involved in shooting of two people: police

Federal agents in Portland, Oregon, were involved in a shooting that sent two people to the hospital on Thursday afternoon. Portland Police in question.
The shooting occurred a day after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent shot and killed a woman named Renee Nicole Good, 37, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as she drove away in an SUV.
“We are still in the early stages of this incident,” Portland Police Chief Bob Day said in a statement.
“We understand the heightened emotions and tension many are feeling following the Minneapolis shooting, but I ask the community to remain calm as we work to learn more,” Day said.
Portland Police said in a statement that they responded to a report of a shooting on Southeast Main Street.
“Officers confirm federal agents were involved in a shooting,” the statement said. “Portland Police were not involved.”
“At 2:24 p.m., officers received a report of a man who had been shot and requested assistance from the Northeast 146 area.This Avenue and East Burnside,” police said.
“Officers responded and found a male and a female with apparent gunshot wounds,” the statement said.
“Officers applied a tourniquet and summoned emergency medical personnel. The patients were transported to the hospital. Their condition is unknown.”
“Officers determined two people were injured in a federal agent-involved shooting,” police said.
