Prince William has revealed a funny comment a tourist once made about Windsor Castle. The 43-year-old actor appeared in the latest episode of Levy’s Apple TV+ series. The Reluctant Travelerhe recalled a tourist’s comment that still makes the Royal Family laugh today.
Speaking to Eugene, William said: “Tour guides hear some funny stories,” adding: “We heard one time: I won’t say the nationality of the tourist, but they look around the castle and say, ‘Wow, this is incredible, but why did they have to build the castle so close to Heathrow airport?'”
Explaining how funny the family found this comment, William added that the comment “went down in history as the number one comment made by a tourist wandering around Windsor Castle.”
She also noted during the episode that her eldest son, Prince George, is “doing better.” [him]He added on History: “I know my history is bad, but this is another level.”
The original Windsor Castle was built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, and luxurious state apartments were added in the early 19th century.
Heathrow Airport first opened as a small airport in 1930, but was later closed during World War II. It became London’s main airport in the years following World War II. The airport, which is also the largest airport in London, is located approximately 14 km from Windsor Castle.
