Festival organiser, Zubeen Garg’s manager arrested in Delhi

Police, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, the North East Indian Festival (NIIF) Chief Organizer Shyamkanu Mahanta and Zubeen Garg’s ruler Siddhartha Sharma, was arrested in connection with the singer’s death in Singapore.
Mahanta was arrested from the arrival of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi from Singapore, and was arrested from an apartment in Sharma.

The Assam government formed a 10 -member special investigation team (SIT) led by Special DGP Deputy Gupta to investigate the death of the singer in Singapore due to the drowning at sea on September 19.
SIT, Mahanta, Sharma and Singapore Association members and a few people, including those who went to Singapore to make the festival appear and record their statements before.
Assam Prime Minister Himanta Biswa wrapped before Mahanta and Sharma had been given a ‘observation notification’ via Interpol and asked them to appear before the CID until 6 October.
