Fewer women should become doctors as they ‘have got to have babies’, retired surgeon says

A leading retired surgeon claimed that too many women have made medical degrees, which is for NHS “Women must have a baby” and many cause part -time work.
Dr Meirion Thomas, a former professor of surgical oncology in Imperial College, said that the gender balance was swinging too much in favor of female medical students.
“The truth of life should have a baby,” he said to Dr Thomas Times Radio, when asked wrongly what to have more female doctors in education.

He said: “You are putting me in place now and I will hate it for it, but the truth of life must of course have to have a baby. Of course, they must have time to raise their children.”
Dr Thomas said that women usually shared part -time or business, and two women should run the equivalent of one full -time man. Im I will hate it for saying that, but I’m afraid, ”he added.
His comments came as a part of a discussion about NHS Strike, which would last five days from 7 am on Friday, and thousands of resident doctors were expected to participate in a strike on a wage.
Dr Please don’t be disturbed by this, Dr said Thomas, “Please don’t be disturbed by this, before referring to a photo of the previous doctors, he showed that only two depicted 30 to 40 people were male. “Everything else was a woman. It tells me something,” he said.
Dr Thomas, who puts pressure on why this would be a problem, said, “One problem is that medical faculties are currently 60 to 70 percent of women as medical students. This is a great imbalance, great imbalance and this should be reduced to 50-50.” Dr Thomas had previously complained about the part -time GPS, which the Royal General Applicants College said “missing the point”.
He also warned that NHS had previously overflowed with doctors from poor countries and claimed that Britain had no idea whether they were competent or not.
The public is asked to continue to stand out for NHS maintenance during a five -day strike that can be canceled.
NHS, England, said that hospitals and local teams have been prepared before the strike, and that they had plans to mak minimizing disruption in patient care and ensure that life -saving care continues ”.
Thousands of resident doctors are expected to participate in a strike by 12th by doctors since March 2023.

New NHS British boss Sir Jim Mackey called hospital leaders to maintain routine operations and appointments, if possible, and cancel only patient safety.
During the strike, GP surgeries will be opened as usual and emergency care and A & E will continue to exist for those who need them.
He called on 111 to use 111 as the first call port for urgent, but for life -threatening issues.
NHS British National Medical Director Professor Meghana Pandit said: “There is no doubt that this industrial action will harm patients and NHS personnel.
“Although some appointments mean that they cannot continue as planned, we do our best to limit it, and patients should continue to use NHS services in a usual way.
“The public should turn 999 in an emergency, and otherwise 111 online, local pharmacist or GP should use and participate in NHS appointments unless otherwise specified.”
