Final piece of artwork of young woman killed hiking on Mount Beerwah in Qld shared to support family

The final hand-painted artwork of an 18-year-old woman killed while hiking on Queensland’s Beerwah Mountain has been shared online in support of her family.
The woman was fatally injured and her 18-year-old boyfriend is fighting for his life after falling from Beerwah Mountain on Sunday morning.
Police said the couple fell from about 50 meters to 100 meters as they descended the mountain in slippery conditions after rain.
Four other hikers were uninjured during the incident.

Katrina Davis set up a GoFundMe page that has raised more than $42,000 to support the woman’s family with funeral expenses and their journey to recovery.
Ms Davis shared a photo of the single rose the 18-year-old had painted following the devastating crash in the Glasshouse Mountains, about 78km north of Brisbane.

He said the family is a valuable part of the community and they want to help them.
“The beautiful graphic rose is the last completed hand-painted artwork to be the angel we remember,” he said.
“We thank the family for their generosity and support.”
Following the incident, Beerwah Mountain was closed to visitors until March 9 as a “precautionary measure”.
The Ministry of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation said the risk of large rockfalls on the summit route is much higher after heavy rain.
