ICE Goons Told to Burst Into U.S. Homes Without a Warrant

Immigration officers have been given the authority to break into people’s homes, according to an internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement memo. The memo, obtained by The Associated Press and dated May 12, 2025, states that ICE officers with administrative warrants (i.e., Form I-205s, not judicial warrants signed by a judge) must “knock and announce” residents, stating their identity and purpose before giving them a “reasonable chance” to open the door. “If the alien refuses admission, ICE officers and agents should use only the necessary and reasonable amount of force to enter the alien’s home, following proper notification of the officer or agent’s authority and intent to enter,” the memo continues.
