FIR against seminary officials in Uttar Pradesh for failing to report stay of foreigner

A case has been registered against Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama officials for allegedly violating the law by not reporting that a foreign national was staying on the seminary campus, a police official said on Sunday (December 14, 2025).

The case concerns a visit to the seminary by Filipino national Muhammad Aron Sarip. Hasanganj police station Sub-Inspector Surendra Singh said: PTI The FIR was registered against four officials of the Islamic seminary on Friday, December 12, 2025.

“Mr. Sarip stayed at the seminary from November 30 to December 2. Rumor has it that he came to visit another Filipino student, Muhammad Yasir.” The case was registered against the principal, assistant registrar, hostel manager and security personnel on duty at the gate of the seminary for not informing the police about the arrival and stay of a foreign national.

Police said Mr. Sarip came on a tourist visa. “The case has been registered under Sections 318 (4) (cheating), 61 (criminal conspiracy), Foreigners Registration Act and Foreigners Act of BNS,” police said.
