Authorities ordered residents in a part of Texas to take shelter where smoke could be observed rising from an oil refinery, according to reports.

Officials confirmed that an explosion occurred at the Valero refinery in Port Arthur on Monday, March 23, FOX26 reported.

The Port Arthur Fire Department urged residents living on Port Arthur’s west side to shelter in place.
