IPL RCB vs DC: Axar Patel reveals what could have prevented Delhi’s collapse against Bengaluru

Kumar and Hazlewood took three wickets each in the first four overs to reduce Delhi’s lead to 8-6, effectively ending the game as a contest almost immediately.
Delhi avoided the tournament’s lowest total of 49 so far and also posted their own lowest score of 66 before being bowled out in 16.3 overs.
“Even I don’t know what happened,” Delhi captain Axar Patel said. “That’s why they say you have to be alert in cricket. We have to move on after this match.”
“I’m not surprised, they are top-notch bowlers, they do well everywhere, but if our openers or top-order had played them, the result could have been different,” Patel said.
Bengaluru veteran and Delhi’s favorite son Virat Kohli, the star attraction in his home city, posted an unbeaten 23 to take the team home in just 6.3 overs.
Three of Delhi’s top six batsmen scored ducks and the other three managed to score in single digits. Abhishek Porel (30) and David Miller (19) put up brief resistance but Delhi had effectively lost the match after a spectacular early collapse.
Kyle Jamieson dismissed Bethell for 20 but Virat Kohli (23) and Devdutt Padikkal (34) ensured there was no drama and Kohli hit T Natarajan with back-to-back sixes to seal victory for Bengaluru.
Delhi fell to seventh place in the 10-team league.
