Flicker Of Hope: Indian Grand Mufti Steps In As Kerala Nurse Faces Gallows – Crucial Talks Underway IN Yemen’s Sanaa | World News

New Delhi/Sanaa: Emergency diplomatic and legal efforts continue to stop the execution of Kerala nurse Nimisha, who is faced with death sentenced to death in Yemen. The execution is planned to be held on July 16th. On July 14, the Indian Supreme Court filed a petition that requested a petition to intervene in the case, while in Yemen, parallel talks between local authorities, tribal leaders and representatives from India continue.

The petition was opened by Save Nimisha International Action Council, a group, a group to prevent execution. During the Supreme Court hearing, the Chief Public Prosecutor R. Venkataramani emphasized that the Indian government is doing everything possible at least ”, but there is not much that the government can do by considering the sensitivity and status of Yemen as a place”.

Meanwhile, negotiations continue with tribal leaders, judicial representatives and religious academics in the Sanaa capital of Yemen. Habeeb Abdurahman Ali Mashhour, the representative of Shaikh Habeeb, is attending the talks with a judge from the Jinayat court, representatives of the Yemeni government, tribal leaders and Talal’s brother.

The initiative was launched after the direct appeal by the Indian Grand Mufti and all Indian Sunni Jamiyathul Ulama Ap Aboobacker Musliyar Musliyar, who asked the victim’s family (Diya) unintentionally. A statement published by Kanthapuram’s office expressed the hope that the outcome of the discussions can be known soon.

Originally from the Palakkad Region in Kerala, Priya was sentenced in 2020 to the murder of a business partner allegedly killed and killed by a Yemeni Court in July 2017.

According to the Yemen Court documents, he broke his body and threw the pieces in an underground water tank. The last appeal was rejected in 2023 and is now held in Sanaa Central Prison.

The Indian government continues to follow the case, but the capacity to directly intervene is directly limited, since India is currently not an operational embassy due to the ongoing civilian conflict in Yemen.

The Supreme Court of Court in Yemen, diplomatic appeals and tribal negotiations, emerge at the same time to prevent execution. The situation remains fluent and a final decision is expected from both sides.
