Illegal intruders being thrown out, West Bengal now included: Rajnath Singh

Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday claimed that the BJP has fulfilled its promises, illegal intruders have been removed in all states ruled by the party and similar actions have begun in West Bengal.

“There is no gap between our words and our actions. We are focused on the next generation, not the next election,” he said. Taking a look at the Congress, Mr. Singh noted that elections inevitably produce winners and losers, but the party routinely questions institutions like the Election Commission, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process when it loses.

“This is exactly why Congress keeps losing elections,” he said. Urging the party to introspect, he said that the Congress had eroded public trust through ‘false claims and flawed policies’, rather than acknowledging its shortcomings, addressing a gathering of intellectuals.

Mr. Singh compared the BJP’s approach with that of the Congress and alleged that while the former respected the Constitution and public sentiment, the latter acted as if it had the right to rule. “Congress sees the country as a family property and Rahul Gandhi sees himself as the natural successor to the post of Prime Minister,” he said.

The Defense Minister said the country has emerged as a ‘reliable partner’ over the last 12 years and is often the first to provide aid during disasters. “India is known for: Vishwabandhu (friend of the world). However, we should not confuse our good intentions with weakness; “We have both vaccines and BrahMos missiles,” he said.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr Singh credited his ‘honesty, honesty and simplicity’ for the BJP’s continued public support. “His life is an example of dedication and pure public service,” he said. Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman and Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao were among those who welcomed Mr. Singh on his arrival at Begumpet airport.
