Ford Worker Who Called Trump A ‘Pedophile Protector’ Reportedly No Longer Suspended

When factory worker TJ Sabula called President Trump a “pedophile protector” during a visit to a Ford plant in Dearborn, Michigan, last month, Ford suspended him. But it was unclear at the time whether Sabula’s suspension would eventually lead to Ford firing him. He had the support of the United Auto Workers Union, but would he want to return even if he wasn’t fired? We will see this, but depending on that industry reporter Phoebe Wall HowardSources he spoke to say Sabula’s sentence has been lifted.

In a recent article bottom stackHoward reported that his sources said not only was Sabula no longer suspended, but he was still “a member of UAW Local 600 in Dearborn and employed by Ford.” It’s unclear if he’s returning to work or still taking some time off, though, and he couldn’t reach Sabula to talk about his plans. Personally, I prefer to believe that he’s not answering his call because he’s on a beach somewhere, sipping cold, fruity drinks and not answering his phone, but that’s much more of an exaggeration than a fact supported by evidence.

When Howard contacted Ford for a statement, the representative declined, saying the “company does not comment on personnel matters.” Meanwhile, UAW vice president Laura Dickerson, who oversees the union’s Ford division, said the UAW still supports Sabula and is doing what it can to ensure he is treated fairly under the terms of his contract, but said she could not comment further. However, multiple unnamed sources reportedly told Howard that Ford’s contract with the UAW would allow Sabula to take personal leave if he so chooses.

What about the hurt feelings of other employees?

As Howard noted, technically Sabula was already on paid leave during his suspension while Ford was trying to figure out what to do with him. Apparently, “…multiple sources close to the situation” told him “[a] A secondary concern involved the drama surrounding the employee’s return to a politically diverse work environment “because”[a] A significant number of UAW members supported Trump on Election Day.”

Whether or not Sabula chooses to return to work, the good news is that he won’t have to worry about money for a while. In response to Sabula showing more courage than the so-called leaders of the Democratic Party, supporters launched two separate GoFundMe campaigns to help Sabula financially. These GoFundMes were so successful that they not only raised nearly $800,000, but also paused campaigns and asked supporters to donate to other good causes.

Even if Sabula doesn’t plan to retire early in a foreign country with a low cost of living after taxes, this is still a nice chunk of change that will give him many options, including the ability to get more deeply involved in political organizing or advocacy. Personally, I’d probably take a nice long vacation, buy a new Corvette, and then go back to work, just to please everyone who supports The man who was Epstein’s best friend I’m uncomfortable, but I’m also short-sighted and that might not be his style. Wherever Sabula goes, I hope she never has to pay for a single drink again.
