Foreign Secretary Misri begins Nepal visit on August 17

Foreign Minister Vikram Misri will pay a two -day visit to Nepal on Sunday, August 17, 2025, as part of the preparations for Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli next month.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) said Mr. Misri was traveling to Himalaya after an invitation from Amrit Bahadur Rai, Nepalli.
“India and Nepal have been able to make concrete progress in various fields of cooperation in recent years and share the ties of friendship,” he said.
Nepal is important for India in the context of general strategic interests in the region, and the leaders of the two countries often have generally recorded the old “routi-beetle” relationship.
The land -locked Nepal rely on India for the transport of goods and services. Nepal’s access to the sea is India and imports a dominant portion of its needs from India and India.
Mea said that India has given high priority to Nepal relations with Nepal within the scope of the first policy of India.
“The Foreign Minister’s visit to the upcoming visit continues the tradition of regular senior exchanges between the two countries and will be an opportunity to further advance our binary ties.” He said.
People familiar with the issue, Mr. Misri’s participation in Katmandu, the main focus of Oli’nin next month will be to prepare the ground for the trip to the new Delhi, he said.
According to diplomatic sources, Mr. Oli is likely to visit India around 16 September.
However, an official announcement has not yet been made on the trip.
