Ravindra Jadeja opened up about the possibility of playing for Rajasthan Royals again and opened up about his maiden IPL outing and what returning to the team means to him. His comments created a stir among RR fans and added new interest to the IPL discussions ahead of next season.
Ravindra Jadeja is all set to don the jersey of Rajasthan Royals once again after a gap of 15 years and this brings his career full circle as it is the same team where his cricket journey initially flew. This transfer carries significant significance for him as he returns to the franchise where he made his IPL debut and earned his nickname.
After joining the team, Jadeja said: “I am back in Rajasthan after fifteen years, so I feel good to be back to the place where I started my journey and got the name Rockstar. I am doubly happy to be back to the same place.”

He is now at a point in his career where he finds motivation in both the enjoyment of the game and the excitement of competition. “I am at a stage now where I want to enjoy my cricket. I will always like whoever addresses me with love, heart and respect,” he said.
He also talked about emerging batting talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi and highlighted the core values he should embrace. “Vaibhav is very young right now. The inspiration for him is simple: work hard, achieve your goals and follow your passion for cricket. If you follow it correctly, you will reach the platform and your journey will start soon,” he added.
He reflected on the early stages of his career and shared that he still feels the same excitement he felt in his youth. “When I started playing, I felt the excitement of going out on the field, practicing, learning. Now I feel the same energy,” he said.
A key aspect of his previous time at RR was his relationship with Shane Warne, whom he captained. Jadeja talked about how, as a young player, he was unaware of the importance of the IPL and how Warne welcomed him warmly, motivated him and even gave him the nickname ‘rock star’, assuring him of a long international career.
Warne’s influence on Jadeja was crucial in shaping his career. The guidance he received from Warne stayed with him even after he left RR when they crossed paths on overseas series. Warne’s support has remained constant over the years.
Now, as Jadeja returns to play for the Royals in IPL 2026, he has the opportunity to reconnect with his roots, pay tribute to Warne’s legacy and lead a team with the energy he once had.
