Former JDS MP Prajwal Revanna sentenced to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting house help

Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former Janata Dal (secular) deputy and former Prime Minister Hd Dewe Gowda, was sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a house aid by a private court in Bengaluru. Revanna was also accused of traveling on sexual assault on a 48 -year -old woman.

A private court in Karnataka found Prajwal Revanna, the JD (S) leader and the former deputy of Hassan found guilty in a rape case with local aid on Friday. The case is about an event in a farmhouse in Hollenarasipura, Hassan.

Revanna left court after the decision. The issue appeared in April last year, after leaking of sexual harassment videos against more than one woman before the 2024 Delik Sabha elections. After returning from Germany, he was arrested in May 2024.

He was previously rejected by both the Karnataka Supreme Court and the Supreme Court on bail. A senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi, who appeared for Revanna, said that the crime of 376 IPC (rape) was not specified in the complaint on the counter. Justice Trivedi said there are other complaints. “You’re so strong,” the counter said to Revanna’s advice.

Revanna challenged the decision of the Supreme Court of Karnataka on October 21st and thus rejected the regular bail and the envisaged bail satisfaction. He was arrested by the Sitting of the CID at Bengaluru Airport on May 31 last year, returned from Germany, where hundreds of open videos appeared 35 days.

Lok Sabha lost its elections with more than 40,000 votes.
