Former Met Police commissioner Lord Blair of Broughton dies aged 72 | UK | News

Former Metropolitan police commissioner Lord Blair, who was responsible for the power during the July 7 bombings, died at the age of 72.

Ian Blair, who ruled the power from 2005 to 2008, sat in 2010 when he was Lord Blair from Boughton, as a cross jam peer. He had previously been a knight in 1999.

His death was confirmed by Oxford, the Church of Christ, where he was an honorary student.

In his statement on Friday, the Church of Christ Oxford said: “The Church of the Church of Christ wants to extend his condolences to the family of Boughton QPM Lord Blair, who died at the age of 72.

“Lord Blair, a graduate and honorary student of the Church of Christ, served as the commissioner of the metropolitan police from 2005 to 2008.”

The frequently controversial senior police officer saw that his career was cut shortly when he was undermined by the Mayor of Toray Boris Johnson from Scotland.

Until this point, Jean Charles, whom the police fired at the Stockwell Tube station in July 2005 after the police made wrong for a suicide bomber, continued to work, although they were the furore of Menezes.

The secretary of the house, the police authority and most importantly, with the support of senior officers, a number of more obstacles stuck.

However, the new mayor took the responsibility of the police authority and went out when he told him that he did not trust his special work.

In 2000, Lord Blair was the head of the Surrey police for two years before he became the deputy commissioner of Met, and he took over the highest job five years later.

London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan said: “Lord Ian Blair has devoted to public service as a police officer for more than 30 years – from graduate recruitment to Met’s commissioner.

“My thoughts with their loved ones.”
