Former NFL player Chris Payton-Jones killed in car accident in Florida

Former NFL player for four teams, Chris Payton-Jones, died in a car accident at the age of 30.

‘He was one of my all-time favourites! The kid never missed a practice, never missed a practice, and never wanted to leave the field. Everybody loved it,” Geis said.

‘He was always incredibly positive. I have never heard this kid say anything negative about anyone or anything. … It was always a pleasure to be around him. You’re always happy to see him.’

At Nebraska, Payton-Jones was an elite cornerback and was named All-Big Ten honorable mention in 2016.

He was not selected in the draft and was initially signed by the Lions but was released from the contract at the end of training camp in 2018.
