Former Irrigation Minister Harish Rao told reporters that his party had requested the Government to hold the winter session for 15 days, but the Speaker agreed to only one week and promised to reconvene the BAC later.

Mr. Rao said he requested the Speaker to allow BRS to make a power point presentation in the House. “The President said he would look into the request. In the past, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, as CLP leader, had boycotted the Assembly when he was not given permission. Should we do the same if permission is not given?” he asked.

The former BRS Minister regretted that only six days were allocated for Question Hour in the last two years and only 15 days of session have been held so far this year. He demanded that the Speaker take up the constitution of various committees and pointed out that he had raised protocol related issues and decried delay in providing the agenda.

Mr. Maheshwar Reddy, grassroots leader of BJP, said that his party has demanded that Assembly sessions be held for at least 20 days. He announced that the party wants discussions on 32 basic issues.
