Brewers pitcher Abner Uribe gets a one-game suspension for crotch-chopping celebration

The Milwaukee Brewers will be without pitcher Abner Uribe for one game after he was suspended for violating one of baseball’s biggest unwritten rules:

Uribe this weekend in St. He participated in the iconic celebration following an inning-ending homer against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Maybe a little too much when you’re up 6-0…

Brewers manager Pat Murphy did not condone the celebration, and Uribe apologized for it.

“First of all, everyone here knows me, knows who I am and knows that I have an emotional history,” Uribe said. “I owe an apology to the Brewers, I owe an apology to my teammates, my manager, all the bosses of the team. I understand that it was unacceptable to go out there and react that way.”

That should be enough in my book. Who hasn’t gotten injured in the heat of competition and cut their opponent’s groin?

I almost did this while playing a game on Netflix on Memorial Day.

Uribe was also fined an undisclosed amount. MLB – is appealing the decision and I couldn’t be more interested to see how this plays out for him.

There’s really no doubt about it: he slashed his groin in the opponent’s dugout.

But maybe there is an explanation.
