Significant reforms implemented in past 11 years to boost mining sector: Reddy

JAIPUR, 7 John (PTI) Union Coal and Mining Minister G Kishan Redy said that the central government has made important reforms to push the mining sector while the central government provides development, public welfare and environmental protection in the last 11 years.

Recalling a accusation ceremony for the seven -star and five -star mines organized by the Indian Mineral Office (IBM) here, Redy said that government policies not only increase the mining sector but also protect the interests of local communities and mine workers. He underlined the importance of adopting technology for sustainable mining practices.

The Minister called on all stakeholders to work to eliminate the misconceptions about the mining sector and emphasized the need to prioritize the security of mine workers.

Speaking on this occasion, Rajasthan Prime Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stressed that there is a need for a balanced approach between mining activities and environmental protection. He said that mining should be sustainable, safe and environmentally friendly.

The Prime Minister stressed that the state made a 24 percent increase in Royalty Collection by marking a record success last year.

“Rajasthan is rich in all kinds of minerals, and the state government is determined to expand every possible support to the mining industry.” He said.

He also claimed that the state government had adopted zero tolerance policy against illegal mining and tightly handled it.

Sharma, “Rajasthan’s mining sector is moving rapidly with transparent processes. The state has abundant minerals from iron to gold. I urge entrepreneurs to invest in our state. The state government is determined to provide full support in these efforts.” He said.

The state said that the country is 57 types of metallic and non -metallic minerals that contribute to the total mineral production value of 12 percent.
