France, UK unveil historic nuclear weapons co-operation

The announcement arrived after French President Emmanuel Macron’s three -day visit to England, where two allies tried to translate the turbulence page for years after Britain’s decision to withdraw from the European Union.

Europe’s primary nuclear deterrence comes from the United States and is a symbol of inter -Atlantic solidarity.
Macron said it was an surveillance committee to coordinate the cooperation of the two countries.
“The decision is to exclude the coordination of our relevant deterrers. A message that our partners and enemies should hear.” He said.
He said that close cooperation has nothing to do with Russia’s efforts to create a coalition that willing to support Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire.
Although both sides will maintain their own decision -making processes and strategic uncertainties, the movement shows that there is more protection to the continent at a time when the commitment of the United States to Europe is under investigation.
Macron said he would initiate a strategic dialogue to expand the protection of France by his nuclear arsenal to his European partners.
The US has nuclear weapons in Europe and tens of thousands of soldiers placed on bases on the continent have military capabilities that Europe could not match.
France spends approximately 5.6 billion euros ($ A9.9 billion) a year to protect the stock of nuclear weapons initiated with 290 submarines and air in the world.
The UK describes its nuclear program as “operationally independent”, but resources are connected to the US for missile technology and purchasing and maintenance support from the US.
