Hundreds of people were evacuated after a forest fire began to spread to a popular tourism zone of France. Firefighters are trying to address the fire in Argelès-Sur-Mer in Pyrénées-Orienteals on the Mediterranean coast. According to the Forest Fire Prevention and Reporting Association, a water bombardment aircraft helicopter was deployed with 90 firefighters in the region.
The association added that 350 residents of the village were evacuated. This comes in the middle of a forest fire that forces 400 people in Marseille to evacuate. Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau said that about a dozen houses were destroyed and 63 people were damaged. Approximately 100 people were subjected to slight injuries.
