From victim to voice: Sadanandan Master nominated to Rajya Sabha

In May 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a rally in Kasaragod, raised his master’s hand from the Sadanandan – a powerful moment that breaks the “silence önen surrounding the victim of political violence. At the rally, Modi talked about a brutal attack on Master, a school teacher consisting of a determined CPM members who adopted the cultural nationalism philosophy of RSS after being influenced by the poet Akitham’s writings. A treacherous brand was branded by his comrades, and when he was attacked both legs in 1994, he was targeted when he was injured beyond repair to prevent re -bonding.

On Sunday, nine years after this symbolic moment in Kasaragod, the Prime Minister once again gave his master’s story national visibility – this time by nominating him to Rajya Sabha. The announcement echoed deeply with the Lakhs of RSS members and sympathizers, which Master’s flexibility has long been an inspiration.

The 30 -year -old victim of this wild attack did not intimidate. From the Sadanan, known as ‘Master’ or ‘Maashay’, he returned to the prosthetic legs and returned to public life and remained a stable rival of the BGB in the castles such as Kannur. He continued to defend the case of Hindutva, but most importantly, he strictly stopped against political violence.
Sadanandan, who now served as the Vice President of BJP’s Kerala unit, spoke continuously against the use of violence in political and ideological conflicts. “The psychology of violence is action and reaction. I am a victim of political violence, and I have always claimed that I am ready to play any role in my individual capacity to end this violence,” he said.

The Usta failed a BJP ticket from Koothuparambu in Kannur region in both 2016 and 2021 Kerala Assembly elections. Nevertheless, for 31 years, he lived with scars of the attack that changed his life. In this 1994 attack, his limbs were cut and crushed on the road to prevent surgery – he left him in pain, but he broke down as a soul.

The Prime Minister’s nomination from Sadanan was not the only gesture that confused the celebration in a wider ideological circle on Sunday. Historian Meenakshi Jain was chosen for Rajya Sabha – an appointment showing Modi’s support for the ongoing sounds that challenge the settled left narratives. However, among Hindutva thinkers and supporters, he found the following for his work on the destruction of the temples in the Middle Ages – a field that ignores the mainstream scholarship. The flight of the temples and the rebirth of the temples, the Battle of Rama: The Temple Case in Ayodhya, and the continuation of the research, including Rama and Ayodhya. The name candidate was Ujjwal Nikam, best known for the death penalty for the 26/11 case. case. Although not directly linked to RSS, Nikam’s choice seems to be honoring individuals who are compatible with national interests, as understood by the Modi government.

Similarly, during Modi 2.0, career diplomat and former external secretary, Harsh Vardhan Shring was nominated. Shring was once seen as a pioneer for the Darjeeling Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 elections, but the party ultimately chose to hold the seating deputy. The Prime Minister was postponed to this decision at the time, and he was clearly on his radar with Shring.

From Sadanan to Master’s life – from a leftist background to a special RSS karyakarta – he assigns flexibility and quiet service. The nomination of Rajya Sabha serves not only personal sacrifice, but also as a determined commitment to ideology and democratic participation in the face of extreme distress.
